Fueled by this lifelong love of funky and absolute colorful design, a 21-year-old Rika/Rikka(secondary nickname to the Danskes) the “fantastisk” (Sverige/Danmark translation for fantastic) web chick launched her web design business in March 2008 after realizing art is her pathway. She threw away the option of becoming a neurologist. She is just not some boring website designer, but an eccentric graphic/visual designer and a romantic landscape painter. She also does marketing promotions for her clients as well as website consulting. She’d worked effectively with her fabulous clients all over the U.S. including U.K. and Danmark. Rika hopes to expand her web design services across Europe. Most of her clients are small business owners, restaurants/bakery owners or chefs, fashion and apparel line designers/stylists, filmmakers, health professionals, models/musicians/dancers, non-profit organizers, and even artists and photographers. They all fall under the art & design & food category.
Outside of freelance work, Rika also enjoyed photography and traveling around the world with her lovely boyfriend of 3 years, mainly in Europe & Asia and trying all vegan foods as well as Belgium lambic/girly beers. She still considers him as her Dunny doll. Rikka is very fond of fashion in Denmark & Sweden. She loves sketching and color penciling on random papers.
She plays the piano, violin, clarinet, and flute and has worked with one of the reowned piano Professor of Music, Dr. Deason on piano theory & composition. She is chosen as one of the competitive and talented pianists for the Bach Festival and other piano competitions in the years of 1998-2003.
Trivia Facts: Rika was a former student studying Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Pre-Medicine) with a concentration in Neurology at University Of Oregon. She taught Chemistry Lab and tutored both at Organic Chemistry & Chemistry. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and raised in Washington D.C. & Philadelphia. She is a committed vegan, but hates tomatoes, beef seitan, portabello mushrooms, and peppers. She is a huge supporter for PETA & Breast Cancer Awareness & Amnesty International. She was a member/designer for Amnesty International (2001-2002). Rika also joined the Debate Team & Advanced Law Studies as well; had full interest in going to law school before graduation. Her favorite color is olive green, though she despises olives.
